CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR
2011-2012
CHRISTMAS GREETINGS:
Well that time of the year is here again. To all our
members the staff wishes you all a very merry Christmas
and happy new year.
Now you all be careful
out there.
Still with Christmas, the
Christmas decorations in the Club are marvelous. Thank
you Ann CLARK and our Donna for the great effort
WORLD CUP
RUGBY:
Well we should all now be over the WRC. It was great to
see our boys do it again (twice every 24 years is better
than once every 24 years). On the night of the final,
thanks to Donna and Ann Clark, an auction was held for
rugby gear and a whole lot of donated goods from
business in the town. The auction raised $1300.00. The
club donated $200 and a cheque for $1500.00 was sent to
the ‘Star Ship’ Hospital. Thank you to Donna, Ann, the
businesses of Waihi and all the persons who joined in
the Auction. GREAT EFFORT.
COURTESY VEHICLE:
It is
operating on Thursday/Friday/Saturday and Sunday from
4pm onwards. However we are in need of drivers. The
drivers have been slowly decreasing. So if you can help
let me (Barry) know. I have to make it very plain:
IF WE DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH DRIVERS THE SERVICE WILL EITHER
BE CUT DOWN OR CUT OUT
ALTOGETHER.
I don’t
think I can make it any plainer than that. This was what
I put in the last newsletter without much effect. It is
probable that we will have to stop having the Courtesy
Van on Sunday’s. If still not enough drivers,
Saturday’s will then cease. It could get down to one
night, being Thursday (our busiest night), Welfare trips
and special occasions. Basically the service is up to
you, our members. NO DRIVERS NO SERVICE
RESTAURANT:
Ingots restaurant is now being run by the Club.
Our new Chef is ‘Jamie’, who has taken over from ‘Pete
the Cook” who is getting treatment for Leukemia. We all
wish Pete a speedy recovery. SUPPORT THE RESTAURANT
AND THAT SUPPORTS THE CLUB.
MINUTES:
A folder
with the minutes of Committee Meetings/, General
Meetings etc is now on the table near at the front
entrance of the club. This also has the copies of
reports, e.g Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet,
Disbursement Journal, presented to the Committee each
month. For you information if interested in reading
same.
WHEEL CHAIR.
There is a
wheel chair and a walker available for use in the Club
if required. Anyone who needs one please see staff.

Web Site. In fact this Bulletin will be on the Web Site
as well. If you have anything that you think should go
on the Web Site please let me know. I will put it on
there for you - anything of interest to our members etc.
There is no point in having a Web Site if there is
nothing on it.
